We’ve noticed that this isn’t your first COD delivery, so you may already be familiar with how COD orders work. The payment needs to be collected directly from the customer at the time of drop-off, as indicated in the app.

Since the payment for the order wasn’t collected, we’re unfortunately unable to issue an additional payment for this order.

Please make sure to collect the cash from the customer before handing over the order on future COD deliveries to avoid these types of issues.

The money you received on COD orders from the customers is not a tip or gratuity. It is the customer’s payment for the order. You still keep 100% of any tips, and these are never deducted from your earnings.

If you would prefer not to receive COD orders in the future, you can opt out anytime in your Dasher app under Account Settings.

I totally understand how this might be confusing, and I’m really sorry for any frustration this has caused.

Just to clarify, I can see that the payment has been processed. Since this was a Cash on Delivery (COD) order, you're expected to collect the payment directly from the customer. That cash is then deducted from your future earnings, which is why it doesn’t show up as an additional payout.

I truly appreciate your understanding

Cash on delivery.

"I see that the payment has been processed, but I understand your concern. Since you receive cash on delivery orders, you’re required to collect cash from the customer directly. The amount you collect will then be deducted from your future earnings.

That’s why the amount you’re referring to hasn’t been added to your payment. I hope this clears things up.

I see that the payment has been processed, but I understand the confusion. Since you receive cash on delivery orders, you collect cash directly from the customer. That amount you collect is then deducted from your future earnings. In this case, you had a ($23.73) cash on delivery balance, which was deducted from your earnings of $30.57.

As a result, only $ was deposited into your account. I hope this clears things up.

I understand, but that is how Cash on Delivery works. For a Cash on Delivery order, we'll let you know it's a cash order and what your guaranteed minimum amount will be. Please be aware that the customer might ask for change. When you arrive, a screen will pop up in your app explaining that the cash you collect will be withheld from future payouts. The amount deducted from your balance for each cash on delivery order will be the total cash we expect the customer to pay, minus your guaranteed minimum pay for that order. Any tip you collect from the customer is always 100% yours to keep and won't be deducted. After you complete the delivery, you'll be asked to confirm that you received the correct cash amount. You'll keep the cash you collect, and that amount will then be deducted from your earnings balance.

I am so sorry for the confusion, but you should be deducted from the amount of the order it because this is a Cash on delivery order so basically when you picked up the order you were the one who paid the order so upon dropping off the order the cash that was given to you by the customer was the payment

You delivered a cash on delivery order with the amount of [---] and since you have a balance earnings from your dash that's why we automatically deduct the money that you owe from us and now you have left [---] that you still need to pay
