ARPU Average Revenue Per User The average amount customers spend each month on their plans services. ASN Advanced Shipping Notification The term used to reference notifications sent to stores via email to alert them about any incoming shipments from the distribution center to the stores. The emails include a breakdown of SKUs and quantities that are expected to arrive at stores.
ATF After-the-Fact Invoice
An invoice that can only be created for contract and retainer projects on the Billing Schedule page of the Clarity application. These invoices increase the Amount Billed To Date value for the project and can be used in the Matching process. ATF invoices are assumed previously posted to Accounts Receivable and General Ledger and are processed by Clarity. AU Authorized User Authorized users on customers' accounts are allowed to request a majority of account changes without the approval of the main Billing Responsible Party. Current Equipment Credit Limit

A service feature that allows the customer to forward their phone to another phone number (for example, you can forward your home phone number to your cell number if you know you are going to be away from home).

Call Forwarding Busy
Call Forwarding on mobile subscriber Busy. This is a GSM Supplementary Service. When this Supplementary Service is provisioned, calls made to the subscriber when the subscriber is on a call are forwarded automatically to another number specified by the subscriber.

Call Failure Message A message that appears on a handset when a call is not successfully made due to a downed network or busy device.
CFNA
Call Forward Not Available Call Forwarding on mobile subscriber Not Available (ANSI-41 only). This ANSI-41 feature is a combination of CFNRy and CFRNc in GSM.

CPR Cash Posting Research The process or form filed when a customer indicates a payment has been misapplied or is missing. CPS
Central Processor Subsystem The central processing system includes a response memory which stores the acknowledge signal response, or the timeout response in a location specified by the channel number of the peripheral subsystem.
CQI Channel Quality Indicator A numeric value provided by a home internet gateway that provides a status on how good a signal it receives from the tower connected on our Network. A value of 0 is poor while 15 is the best. CR

CRID Customer Request ID Term used to reference a number associated with an application (generally used during the activation process). Circuit Switched Data A circuit connection is made that is exclusively reserved for the individual's use. Payment is then made in accordance with the duration of the connection. This can be inefficient, for example when connecting to the internet using WAP, as more time is spent reading the information than is spent exchanging data, however you continue to pay when you are reading.

Embedded SIM card
Embedded SIM cards (eSIMs) are SIM cards built into the device and can't be removed or replaced. If the manufacturer allows it, they may also support multiple profiles.
ESN
Electronic Serial Number
ESN is a unique ID number embedded in a wireless phone by its manufacturer to minimize chance of fraud. Each cellular phone is assigned a unique ESN, which identifies it to the cellular system for the purpose and placing and receiving calls. The Mobile Telephone Switching Office validates the ESN with each call. An ESN is different from the Mobile Identification Number (MIN), which is the identifier used by the wireless carrier.

Future Dated Payment
Enables customers to schedule advance payments from checking or savings accounts to pay their Balance in Full (BIF) or past due balance. This ensures one call resolution by eliminating customer callbacks for paying on a Recurring Arrangement or Proof of Payment.

Full High Definition
A term used to describe the typical resolution on a device such as a smartphone or tablet. Wide Quad High Definition or WQHD offers four times the resolution and is generally on devices with wider or larger screens. FLP
Final Lease Payment
The final lease payment charge, which is added two days before the bill is created. After this payment is made, customers can purchase the device outright by paying the Purchase Option Price (POP), return the device to a Retail location, or participate in the Purchase Option Installment Plan (POIP) to pay off the purchase option amount of the device plus taxes in monthly installments.
FMV Fair Market Value An estimate of the market value for products (typically devices) which is based on what a knowledgeable customer is willing to pay for the product or which companies feel is a good price for selling a product. FPD First Payment Default Term used to describe the failure to make an initial payment as scheduled based on agreements previously made by customers (such as with payment arrangements). GPRS
General Packet Radio Service
GPRS, which has been standardized by ETSI as part of the GSM Phase 2+ development, represents the first implementation of packet switching within GSM, which is essentially a circuit switched technology. Rather than sending a continuous stream of data over a permanent connection, packet switching only utilizes the network when there is data to be sent. Using GPRS will enable users to send and receive data at speeds up to 115kbit/s. GPRS is ideal for 'bursty' type data applications such as email or Internet access, and can also enable 'virtual permanent connection' to data sources, allowing information to arrive rather than being sought. This cannot be achieved using standard circuit-switched networks.

GSM
Global System for Mobile Communications
The dominant digital cellular technology for mobile telephone networks in Europe. GSM (formerly called "Groupe Speciale Mobile") utilizes the 905-915 MHz and 950-960 MHz reserved spectrum to provide roaming capability across 18 countries in Europe. GSM 1900, the North American version of GSM, allows the standard to be used in the 1,900 MHz frequency band, which the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and Industry Canada have allocated for personal communication services (PCS). GSM is also the name of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute technical committee responsible for the developing the standard.

Peripheral Component Interconnect
A high-speed connection for devices including Small Computer Systems Interface (SCSI) cards, video cards, sound cards, modems, video capture cards, etc. This is the primary way of adding devices to your computer. It is faster than Industry Standard Architecture (ISA), so is preferred for devices such as sound cards and SCSI cards. RAM
Random Access Memory
The place in a computer where the operating system, application programs, and data currently in use are kept so that they can be quickly reached by the computer's processor. Data in RAM stays there only as long as your computer is running. Turning off the computer looses the data in the RAM.
RC Roaming Charge A billing term that is used in our systems to identify any charges customers may receive while roaming.
RCC Relay Conference Captioning Free service that enables Deaf or Hard of Hearing callers to actively participate in conference calls, video meetings, and webinars. With RCC, you can read live captions via a web browser on your computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. A high-speed internet connection is required. RCC Rural Call Completion A term used to describe issues customers in rural areas may experience such as audio issues, dropped calls, caller ID issues, and more (including issues calling specific landline numbers). . RCS Rich Communication Services A messaging protocol that brings a lot of new features into the messaging application across Android devices. T-Mobile's version of RCS is called Advanced Messaging.
RDC Recurring Device Credits A series of monthly credits provided to customers as part of a promo or offer to cover the discounts on devices.
RDI Return Device Image This acronym is only used in the name for the RDI Lookup tool, which is used to find images showing the condition of returned devices. RFP Request for Proposal The process businesses use to secure wireless solutions. RIL Radio Interface Layer This is part of the ROM and is like a driver for the radio. There is a matching RIL for each Baseband version (sometimes the RIL version is the same for a few Basebands in a row), and you can flash it to match your Baseband after flashing a ROM (otherwise the ROM overwrites with its RIL). Having mismatched RIL and Baseband can range from having no effect at all, slight battery drain, loss of roaming, or even no connection to the cell network. Many ROMs keep their RIL updated to the latest and require you have a minimum Baseband to match.

RPS Retail Partner Sales An independent Sales channel that sells T-Mobile products and services. RSL Retail Support Line The Customer Care department that supports T-Mobile's Sales channel. RSP Retail Service Platform A backend system that integrates Retail Partners systems with other T-Mobile systems to support the activation process and other account changes. RSRP Reference Signal Received Power A status on how strong a signal is transmitted from a tower to a home internet gateway. The location of the gateway in a home may provide better signal strength compared to other locations within the home. RSRQ Reference Signal Received Quality A status on how good the quality of a signal is transmitted from a tower to a home internet gateway. Stock Keeping Unit
This code is used to track inventory. A unique identifier for the Prepaid Card which is read by scanners to query a database to determine the item and price. SLA Service Level Agreement This refers to the contract between a service provider and the customer, defining the level of service expected. Virtual Private Network
