How soon do you need your new computer? How much did you want to spend? Are you using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet or other video meeting/sharing apps? What applications are you using? What are the top features that you’re looking for? Is there any other software you need? Is this for personal or business use? PS: I don't like this question by itself, it has to be PART of a REAL conversation that has MORE to it. Such as "Will you use your laptop at home, on the road, at the office?" Let them respond. Then BUILD ON THAT and KEEP GOING!!! This is a 2-way conversation, right? Are you more of a one-at-a-time app user or heavy multitasker? HINT: Most people are multitaskers!!! THIS is good for selling! What kinds of games are you playing? Since the laptop cannot be upgraded later, we recommend the best or at least a faster performing processor. Choosing a higher-end processor will give you up to 15% faster performance as you step up. You will really experience the faster performance when you’re opening browsers, watching videos and you can even experience longer battery life. You won’t see your system stalling trying to perform the next action. That approximate up to 15% really matters to help overall performance. Would you like 16 GB of memory since it cannot be upgraded later? I always recommend maximizing your memory since it's truly one of the best things you can do to optimize your system's performance. You'll experience much less drag on your system the higher you go up in memory. Plus, memory is soldered onto the motherboard, so it can't be upgraded later. You definitely want to invest in a graphics card that has dedicated memory. Dedicated memory means that the graphics will be drawing off its own memory and not your systems memory. This is going to make all of your graphics related instructions run more smoothly and not experience any choppy buffering. (Highly recommended for those who need to use Zoom, Teams and other online meeting applications.) What would you like your new laptop to do that your current one isn't able to do? Are you going to be streaming Netflix and other apps? (other apps that are popular for video streaming/shows: YouTube, Tube, Paramount+, Apple+, Hulu) What top features do you need? Backlit keyboard, numeric keypad, touchscreen? How long do you typically use the battery before having to plug in and charge up? How do you typically backup your files? Will you need to setup additional monitors to increase your viewing space? Do you work from home? Are you a student?
