Verbal Statement of No Loss (SONL)
A verbal statement of no losses is a verbal statement from the insured confirming that the property has not experienced any losses during the cancellation period.
“Can you confirm if there have been any losses, or circumstances that may give rise to a claim under your Hippo Homeowners policy from (Date of cancellation) to (Date of Reinstatement)?”
If no loss - ok to reinstate IF the policy is still within the reinstatement period. If there IS a loss - Risk is ineligible. The insured will need to receive a quote for a new policy and it will be subject to underwriting review.
When can I suppress the cancellation? (SUPPORT PROCESS) Spek
- Obtain these check details from the customer or through mycoverageinfo.com.
Check amount Check number (not needed if check details are available through mycoverageinfo.com) Disbursement date (day the check was sent) Check address
- If the check contains the correct amount and was sent to the proper address, suppress the cancellation (Underwriting tab) for 15 days from the due date.
If the policy is cancelled and is within the applicable reinstatement period, revert the cancelation to suppress.
Do not suppress cancellation if more than 15 days have past since the check was issued.
Notate your suppression note in POD with check details, or screen shot of Mycoverageinfo.com
DO NOT ADD a suppression without all of the check details. Note: Suppression should not be used to extend the amount of time a customer has to pay their bill. There are existing procedures in place that allow customers to maintain their coverage even if payment is made after the original due date. If the policy is already pending cancellation, suppressing the cancellation will not prevent the policy from canceling.
