D.A.R.E ESSAY

My D.A.R.E. journey this year was so fun and interesting. I learned a lot about the D.D.M.M., resistance strategies, how to handle stress, and more. I also learned how doing drugs can affect my health. Now that I've come towards the end of my D.A.R.E journey I feel like I could be a leader to others by teaching them how bullying can affect a person or hurt someone or teach them how bad drugs or alcohol is for you. I definitely will be using the D.D.M.M future whenever I need it.

Now I'm going to tell you some of the things I've learned in D.A.R.E. Starting with some of the reasons that cause stress are anger, fear, and sadness. I've also learned about resistance strategies and some of them are walking away, changing the subject, saying no with an excuse, and strength in numbers. Another thing I have learned is how to handle stress by talking to a trusted adult. Or you could play with a pet.

Some things I've been working on are confident communication and using the D.D.M.M. This year I have had the best officer, Officer Chavez. I feel like D.A.R.E has impacted me in a lot of ways to be a better person. I have used the D.D.M.M in a lot of ways but this one time I used it when I saw someone getting bullied, so I stood up to them because I knew it was the best thing to do.

One of the very important things I've learned is not to let someone make me do something by peer pressure. I know it could be very hard to say no to your friends but if they are trying to make you do something bad, please don't do it even if they stop being your friend. It's not worth it just be cool to put those terrible things in your body and even if you just try it one time you could get addicted. You could also use resistance strategies to get out of it. One of the resistance strategies you could use could be saying no with a reason.

I think D.A.R.E should be available for everybody because everyone should get a chance to learn about this but that's just my opinion. I have loved D.A.R.E so much this year. I have learned so many important things I will for sure use now. Now I know how I could be more of a leader to others. D.A.R.E WAS THE BEST AND I LOVED IT! Thanks to Officer Chavez for the time, she took to teach us I loved you! thanks for reading my essay!
