*Unauthorized (UT) ✔Any card transaction the member reports they did not authorize *Cancellation ✔Occurs when a member cancels a transaction prior to the authorization and is still subsequently charged. *Amount Discrepancy ✔Member conducted a purchase, but the merchant charged the member more than agreed to by the member. *Charge Twice ✔Member has made a purchase, but merchant charged the member more than once for the same good/service. *ATM/Cash Not or Partial Dispense ✔The member attempts to withdraw funds from an ATM but the machine did not dispense any funds, or it only dispenses part of the requested amount. *Paid by other means ✔when cardholder used his card as payment for txns but then decided to use cash, check or other cards but the ch found out that there's still a charged posted on his acc. Credit not posted ✔ the merchant promised a refund but not still posted.
What is a below threshold Claim? A below threshold claim (also known as De Minimus or small balance write-off) is a transaction that falls below the client’s dollar amount threshold for conducting an investigation.
De minimis Claims If the total claim amount is $75 or less and there’s no transaction more than $25, the claim will be written off.
- If the customer has filed two prior disputes in the last 6 months, the claim will bypass the de minimis threshold.
What is a Past Time frame Claim ?(PTF Claim) Dispute claims reported past 60 calendar days from the Periodic Statement which the oldest dispute transaction appears on. Claims may lose the following regulatory privileges if CH fails to provide extenuating circumstances that prevented them from reporting a dispute on time:
Provisional Credit – Temporary credit given CH equivalent to the amount of eligible Reg E transactions if investigation will take longer than 10/20 Business days. Final Credit – Reimbursement amount for transactions where we found errors or did not find enough reason to invalidate
Chargeback Time frame The Chargeback time frame is 120-days from the settlement date of the transaction. After this, the claim loses it’s chargeback rights and may be subject denial.
