FBA - BUYER RETURS

❤ RETURNS TIME FRAME ✔ in most cases, buyers can request to return an item within 30 days of receiving it. amazon may make case-by-case exceptions and accept return requests beyond 30 days of receipt.

✔ if the return has not arrived at a fulfillment center within 45 days of the return request, in most cases, amazon will charge the customer and credit the seller's account for the item.

❤ PRODUCT DISPOSITION

  1. SELLABLE : if the item is sellable, the unit is added back to the seller's fulfillable inventory to be up for sale. : the seller is not compensated in this situation as there is no damaged that requires either party to tale responsibility.

  2. UNFULFILLABLE (CARRIER DAMAGED/ DAMAGED) : buyers may received product that were damaged in transit by a carrier selected by amazon during the fba shipping process. if the customer received a product that was not on a sellable condition, the customer is compensated by deducting the amount form the seller's account balance. : as amazon takes responsibility for this type of damage, when the reimbursement is processed, the damaged unit is purchased by amazon. the purchased of the unfulfillable unit will show up on the inventory adjustment report as 'transfer to holding account'

  3. UNFULFILLBALE ( CUSTOMER DAMAGED/ DEFECTIVE) : customer damaged> if the customer opens the products and then decides they no longer need it, the customer has the option to return it. however, amazon will have to classify it as customer damaged because it will need to be repacked before sending it to another customer in "new condition'

: defective> if the customer returns a unit because it doesn't work, amazon will receive the unit and will classify it as defective.

• as such units no longer match the product's details page, the fc associate assesses the cause of the damage and decides between the two. in such situations, amazon debits seller's account to reimburse the customer and does not reimburse the seller, as this is damage either created by the customer or the seller. the units is added back to the seller's inventory in the unfulfillable status which needs to be removed form the fc within 20days .the seller request to have their unit returned by creating a removal order.
