It was eighteen-hundred hours in the clock. I stretched my arms, yawned silently and sit properly. Two hours to go and my long day will be over. I cannot wait to go home to drink some cold beer, eat like a king and sleep like a boss. I slowly turned around to my right and there he was- I saw Achi. He was neither talking nor moving. "Hey, Achi! It's just the two of us left in this room, you can talk to me." I said trying to initiate a conversation but I got no response. He must be very tired. He was working since six o'clock in the morning today. That made him working for 12 hours straight now. "Achi, do you want to rest or take a nap for a couple of minutes? I can cover up for you. I will not tell anyone." I offered him help but I still did not get any response. "Achi, are you mad at me? I am talking to you everyday, greeting you and even offering you food but you are always acting like that. It seems that you are not hearing me. You are so cold. What's wrong with you?" I confronted him but he just gave off a very deep breathe. "Alright, fine. I will stop talking to you now." I said as I turned back to my computer. "How can someone be so quiet, stubborn and cold?" I murmured. My computer shut down and the lights went off. I heard Achi uttered a short word that I did not understand and the silence followed there after. "Gosh, PALECO! Here we go again" I exclaimed as I know that we just experienced a power disruption. I looked back towards Achi's direction. He was still quiet but he seemed to be resting. Not long , the light went on indicating that the power has been restored. Achi uttered a word again but I cannot understand it. It was like a beeping sound. He started to work as the power was restored. I smiled to him and said: "You did a great job, Achi! It might have been a long day for you but since we are just using a power from a generator sets, you can rest now." I pressed the power button on the remote control that I was holding earlier and I saw Achi smiled to me as he gently closed his eyes. Silence followed but this time, Achi is no longer cold. I can now feel the warmth on the room. "Until next time, Achi. Have a good rest!" I said while restarting my PC. Time flew quickly and it is now twenty-hundred hour on the clock. My shift has ended. I shut down my computer, turned the lights off and for the last time, looked back to Achi's direction. He was sleeping peacefully. "See you again, tomorrow! Good bye!" I said as I stepped out of the room. He is Achi. Our permanent colleague on the office. I am not sure when he started working for the company. All I know is that he works from 6AM to 8PM every day covering all our shift. I never see him going home nor filing for a leave. Not even once. I really admire his dedication and commitment. He is the most industrious employee I must say. But he is the most silent and the coldest as well. His full name is Hitachi "Split-Type" A. C.
