I have never had a down payment/this high of a down payment with T-Mobile, why do I have one now?

Device prices are constantly changing, and T-Mobile customers are presented with the best financing option available to them. The down payment you are offered is determined by a variety of things like the device you are purchasing and your payment history with us.

Why do I have to pay a down payment that seems to be more than it usually is?

We are always working on different financing options for our customers and some of our customers may see changes in the way they pay for their devices. Some customers may experience an increase in upfront costs. Currently we’re offering 0% interest for all customers which provides the lowest overall cost to finance a device and the lowest monthly payment.
